The 8th grade gifted and talented students of Bonny Eagle Middle School created STEM videos for the USM STEM Film Challenge. Videos were submitted on November 20th, and students attended the film festival at the Southworth Planetarium in Portland on December 4th with Mrs. Quimby and Ms. Martin. Two out of the four Bonny Eagle teams won awards at this event!
1st Place Winners (Emma Karlis, Mason Kane, Ali Willett, and John Havu): The Butterfly Effect. A video from the Hungry Hungry Hippos 6-8th grade team. Uses the examples of the NBAs Forgotten Fax and Misty Copeland's rise to success in the ballet world.
The Smashing Titanics (Bailey Shaw, Ava Stoddard, Chase Macdonald, Brodee Britland) won the 2021 Award for Most Accessible STEM Film with good use of both audio and on-screen textual displays.
